Since when was Mohammed a General?
Military tactics are based on experience of worked and what hasn't, and as anyone who has ever been in the military knows the basis of success is flexibility in a plan.
Every great general from Hannibal, Salhuddin, and Sun Tsu, through to Rommell Patton and Montgomery will have contributed to current tactical thinking.
The evolution of technology also has a massive effect on tactics also.
So the answer to your question is no, the western military does not base its tactics on anything to do with the Prophet.

Mohammed was a prophet and only used military tactics learned from the Bedouin tribes and Byzantines to gain territory. Most tactics used by western forces were copied from the Far East.

Mohammad was a goat-herder who day-dreamed a lot. There is very little western military can learn from him.

What wars was Mohammed engaged in? Please list them so that I may be enlightened. Do you mean Mohammed the prophet or someone named Mohammed? Ask your obviously brilliant friend. Please!
Perhaps you and/or your friend are confusing Mohammed with someone else. Hmmm... Maybe... Salah al-Din? But what do I know? LOL
