I'm not really understanding your question but....If your trying to have people convince you to not join the military...then you are obviously not wanting to join that badly. I'd recommend for you to research it alot more. If your interested in the National Guard find a local National Guard unit. Go talk to some of the soldiers. Get their viewpoint. If after talking to them you decide you are interested....talk to a recruiter. Good luck.

Look girl, it is your choice. People can say all day that it is poor people or not the right people that we are killing, but the media makes this worse. We have battles, we kill, they kill us, we win..... End of story. We have our freedom because of the wars we have won. We gained our Independence from a war. The National Guard would be ok, but do it only if YOU want to. Join us in protecting and keeping America safe and free. Maybe I will see you in the ranks.

The National Guard is the best place for a person to join, there is little risk and it pays well

there is a chance you will have to see war, riots and other dangerous things but its not likely

Why would I tell you not to join? If I were young enough I'd join in a heartbeat. Just my opinion, or course, but I think the military is an exciting career. Do what you feel is right for you.

It is YOU, make your own decisions. Do your own research on the military and see if it the right thing for you. I thought the military was the right thing for me in High School, after I did a research and NOT listened to any recruiter's suggestions I decided NOT TO JOIN THEM. So, DO NOT listen to a recruiter, a friend or anybody on any important decision you want to make.

It is such a long term commitment. you give up day to day control of your life.

there is a consequence to everything.

Some people like their lives to be directed for them. I guess it is safe and may be easier them making your own decisions.

join for the right reason. once you sign that bottom line...

you have reached a point of no return

good luck :)
p.s. I must admit this is a very subjective opinion. I could not imagine adapting to this way of living, for many reasons

a reason not to join, apparantly getting shot is sore. i've 2 freinds that were shot in the stomach stiches from their balls to their necks. and that was peace keeping in east timor.
