weeellll, technically, no.. BUT there are exceptions. marrying a Foreign National, for one. If the Officer has a security clearance, it can be yanked if the proper procedures aren't met or if it determined that the new spouse poses a security risk of any type.. whether they be foreign born to a hostile nation, a close relative is a high ranking government official of a foreign government, or just a plain ole American citizen with a financial issues that could lead to the Officer being suseptible to bribery.

No. I don't know what military you're marrying into but I've never heard of such a thing. There are things to do for a US soldier to marry a civilian who isn't American. Just some extra paperwork. The military CAN stop an officer from marrying an enlisted member because it falls under fraternization in the UCMJ.

For DbHK:
The wife or husband of a Commissioned Officer is NOT entitled under military law to a salute.
A salute is rendered to the RANK of the officer and not to him or his wife personaly.
It has become traditional to render a salute as good manners to an officers wife but there is no military regulation that DEMANDS this.
Is there not a military regulation that requires a military person to apply for permission or give notification to get married, might save the officer in question from being detailed for duty on the day he picks for his wedding.
I am also sure there is some security requirements to be meet if the wife/man getting married to the officer is a non-US national.

as long as they're not above or below the civilian in their chain of command. Also, another situation is if the person who is a civilian JUST seperated from the military. SOME officers will use that as a grounds to establish unprofessional relationship existing DURING the former enlisted person's time in service, which is grounds for non-judicial punishment (actually, it could be grounds for courts martial too, but that's not likely).
Otherwise, yes. But an officer is smart to pick a good spouse who won't make them look like a fool.

No. In actual fact most military officers are married to civilians. ALL the officers I served with were married to civilians and they certainly didn't ask the the army for permission.

Fraternization rules in the military apply to enlisted and officers, those in your chain of command, etc.
From my experience, the military doesn't tell its members who to marry or not to marry.

Nope.
As long as the intended spouse is of age, then the officer can marry any civilian he or she desires.
