My husband is going to be a linguistic for the air force, maybe he is going to learn Korean? Anybody know how long does it take?

It will all depend upon the language he gets. Korean is one of the longer ones. The language school alone will be about a year, and then he will go to his second tech school to learn the more technical part of his job. That portion is about 4 months long. Considering there may be some delays in his training (class start dates are not always right, may be held over to *wait* for class start dates, may be rolled back, etc), he is looking at a year and a half easy for his training. I am a Spanish linguist in the AF and had a relatively easy time (no major delays or anything) and have the shortest language course available at DLI, and my total tech school time was still 13 1/2 months.

The Tech school for Linguist is 1 year. This is one of the longest and hardest schools in the Air Force.

It varies from like 4 weeks to around 2 years. Being open electronics there is no way to tell until he gets his job.

he won't know what language he has until he shows up to DLI. Cat 4 languages are in excess of 12 months. His orders to Monterey will be accompanied. Monterey is beautiful, you will love it there.

It depends on where he goes and what language. They should tell you how long. If not, you can check it out on http://www.airforce.com/ or talk to a recruiter.
