Hi, I am a marine reservist and I have questions about becomming a commissioned officer.. I know there are many different ways to become an officer, but I don't know which one would be the best choice. First of all, I don't really wanna go through PLC or OCS because I already went through 13 weeks of marine boot camp(hell)...So, I'm thinking about doing ROTC, because I'm going to attend college this winter(freshmen) anyway. I'm going to follow pre-med path and my goal is to have career in health care field. Then, which armed force ROTC will be best for my plan? I need money for college and I prefer a branch that would give most benefits toward my education. Also, If I do ROTC in college, would it take away lot of time? How difficult is it to graduate? What kind of benefits will I get? Is it possible to do ROTC in 3yrs? Should I become a doctor first then join as an officer? Any advices for alternate ways to become officer?

Sorry about asking too much...

What gratitude! She was destitute, he supported her and bought a farm, horses and pets cause that was her dream, he also moved interstate to do so ! He encourages her all the way, now she joins the Navy, which is great, and soon forgets what he has done for her ! So now she studies Engineering to become an Officer and hes left paying all her bills and not recognised defacto, has she screwed him ?

Going to cost the U.S. tax payer $ 600,000 to fix this problem. Don't you think some engineer while planning would have seen this? Unbeleivable!

My friend's husband is in the Navy and he works over 100 hours a week when he isn't deployed. This isn't like a time limited thing...its been this way for him and the other men on his submarine for years now. Is that even legal? What can they do about it?

Just wondering. Maybe its because the terrorists have had a change in heart, and decided to be nice guys. What do you think?

Someone was telling me that Officers in the Army are not required to do basic combat training and instead do some other form of training. Is this true?

she is on anti-depressents and they are not helping, the only option i see is to not go. i know there are hardship discharges but is there any way to be taken off the list to deploy i dont want out. in about a year i think things would be better. but we just got married and she was mistreated with her last husband and its not fair to her to be alone again so soon after being married. she cannot stop cring or being depressed, and i know if we had more time together before i had a deployment things would be better for her.

For instance, you are told that your country was going to be attacked in 45 mins with chemical weapons when you know that the enemy did not have launchers that can reach your country and it is doubtful that they had any intention or weapons at all? Would you join the army?

This city also happens to be the home of (D) Nancy Pelosi.

Why was the Marine Corp not allowed to film an ad there?

Is Pentagon City really a city? When I visited Washington DC I remember the subway had a stop at the Pentagon called Pentagon City. What city is that in? I think it's actually across the river from Washtington DC. On the news though, they always show the Pentagon as being in Washington.

I am currently seeking a commission in the US Navy. During college however, I was enrolled in ROTC. During a summer incampment I SIE'd (Self Initiated Elimination). I am wondering if this is something I should bring up or if I just should not mention it to my recruiter? I know I had to sign something that said my disenrollment could jeopardize a future commission.

I was not on any contract with ROTC and did not receive any tuition assistance. One part of me says I might be wasting a lot of time if I don't say anything and it is discovered. Another part of me says I was just dropping a class and it's no one's business since I was under no contract.

I have mentioned to my recruiter I was in ROTC, but she has not asked any probing questions about my experience. So far I've left it at that.
Any ideas?
