What gratitude! She was destitute, he supported her and bought a farm, horses and pets cause that was her dream, he also moved interstate to do so ! He encourages her all the way, now she joins the Navy, which is great, and soon forgets what he has done for her ! So now she studies Engineering to become an Officer and hes left paying all her bills and not recognised defacto, has she screwed him ?

A bit screwed. Y she joined the navy if your brother gave her everythin? First, they should had got married before she got into the navy, to give him medical/dental/and house allowance money. She don't care about your brother.

It sounds to me that this girl aspires to do more and will step on any available rung on the ladder to get there. It may be heartless but it all comes down to how your brother feels. If he feels used then he needs to cut himself free and move on.

As for the military.... no, they don't recognize significant others. Why should they? They barely recongize those of us that are married to an active duty member! Sorry, no sympathy from the military side.
As for his girlfriend... not even going to go there!

He doesn't have to pay her bills.. if they're in her name, they belong to her. Trust me, her military pay will be garnished if she doesn't pay them.
