Well I think we would have to go a long way to have military occupation in "most" countries. With the exception of Iraq and Afghanistan I am not sure we have any other occupations. We have a large military presence in other countries but we are a major power in the world.
I am very sorry that your experience with Disability has been bad. Perhaps I was just lucky but the VA has always treated me well. I am 100% service connected from Vietnam. Have you talked to your local legion or VFW post. They are good about helping with disability claims.

Look up the phrase 'fighting a limited war'. The actual war itself was won in a matter of a few days, as Saddam's government was removed. What is going on now is more of a civil war as the various religious factions kill more of each other, than US soldiers. The days of basic weapons for the insurgents is over as other countries like Iran are providing weapons. I don't agree with the way things are being handled, but your statements do not reflect much truth. I suspect you just don't like the US like many on this site.

I never met a fellow vet who had such poor understanding of sentence structure and spelling. I dont buy your assertion that you are from here. But just to get it straight Achmed, we are in most countries at their invitation. We also have foreign troops here on american soil. The Germans have a significant presence in Texas, we have joint operations in colorado with the Canadians, and there is talk of bringing in a Russian contingent in the not too distant future. I find it interesting that a disabled vet who is barely surviving has time or resources to post such garbage on the internet, and the last I heard most of my DV buddies were doing all right on their disability checks. Nice try Achmed, but we see right through you.

Um, I think you have your "facts" all screwed up.
The US does NOT have troops everywhere, nor are we occupying the world. The only troops we have in every nation are Embassy guards -- and they hardly constitute an occupational force.
Your ignorant rant, jumbled lack-of-logic, and horrible spelling make me believe that you are no Vet, just some ignorant punk trying to act important. Get a real life, and stop trying to pull the wool over the eyes of others.

actually considering that there are 194 countries in this world, we have bases in LESS than 3% of this world. the main reason we open a base is because we want to leave soldiers behind after a conflict in order to stabilize. we opened the german base after the nazi collapse in world war 2. we have the base in s. korea after the korea war. we have a base in guam after our conflict with japan in WW 2. we also have/had a base in okinawa after our conflict with japan in WW2. we are beginning a base in bulgaria, for what reason i am not sure. it all depends on the situation....However, i do agree with you that disabled soldiers and veterans need much more attention and financial backing for the dedication, service, and honor they have bestowed upon this country. I am hoping that their budget will increase soon....

we have a military units in foregin countries because the US will show a pressence in foriegn matters to help resolve any incidents that may accur this helps are alliances when help escort foriegn officals and protect local civilans. Basicaly its just to keep another world war to happen. Wars cost more money then to help the elderly so seen best to prevent more war casualties then to fully support those already. Its the way the country looks always to the future and not to the present

It's the cost of being a bully - or put it nicely, a world "peace" keeper.
Seriously, US needs to maintain and increase its influence around the world. Other countries don't do this because they are not as powerful as US; if they are, they will; and that's why you see some rising countries are getting more aggressive militarily.

Excluding the marines guarding embassies, the US doesn't have troops 'in "MOST" all countries' [sic].
