is there a militray base in illinois. and does a person who works there have to live there or can they live off it? also can someone just be like a counselor (are there counselors in militray bases?) and work for three days or something?

So here is the deal--I have 4 years active duty and 2 "good" years in the National Guard. I have been working for 2 years at the VA as a part-time (paid) GS-9 and I am going back on active duty in about a year. Do I get some type of half-credit toward retirement added to my RPAS?

My son was accepted to join the Navy Seals last fall, only to then fail the drug test..He didn't actually join..This year he stop the drug use and has cleaned up his act and really wants to try again..Recruiter (over the phone) told him to "Try the Army", but he really wants the Seals..Is it possible?

My ex-"boyfriend" is a liar. He said he was getting divorced and he was going to leave the army after this deployment. He lied on both.

He begged me not to give up on him, so I left a well-paid job, took a huge paycut, moved to LA to be close to him. Then he was recalled and deployed to Iraq. I kept faith, sent him 2 packages a week, and called him every single day for 15-30 minutes. But he never bothered to tell me after a good phone sex that he was planning to go back to his marriage and stay in the army until I found out by myself.

Now he asked me to "set him free", blamed me for listing my sacrifice, and said if I loved him I should not destroy his life.

He's an officer. How could army let such jerk lead its troops? I'd like to know the process to report this adultery to his commander. I have not decided if I should "destroy" him after he destroyed me, but never hurt to know before hand.

Much appreciated for advice. I have no idea about the military process. Thanks.

Does the United States Coast Guard deploy a lot of people to Iraq. I really want to join the military but I am afraid that I might get deployed to Iraq. Is this the branch to join if you want the least chance of going to Iraq?

I am 17 last year of school and planning to join the Marine Corps just want to know the best way to get physically prepared for the Military because not to lie i am pretty over weight and not even close to being ready lol i am waiting till i am 18 to join but just want to know some way's to get ready and in shape...i know there is no what to get mentally prepared but i am gonna leave that to myself...

Five year plus after the "Dancing in the Streets by Iraqi's" that has never happened, and Bush is doing nothing but buying time with American tax payer Money and lost health and life of United States Soldiers, Marines, Naval and Air Force personal. Also, at least five times as many innocent Iraqi lives are lost as America lives are lost. Why?
We know it is not WMD's, Democracy as we recognize it, Building a reliable allie, Making friends in the Middle East, Doing the bidding of Jesus to love thy Enemy or building a stronger American Military or a more hopeful future for anyone.
So why are the Republicans continuing this Five Act Play based roughly on the Vietnam War? Do we really want another War to go on one, three or five more years that is already doomed to failure? Why?

Why do we keep throwing money to "support" the "war" in Irak? And HERE at home the Social Security report a deficit of 300 trillons??? My brother and I have just went through MEPS and we have chosen to go infantry(11B). (can you believe we actually had to beg to get infantry? I thought we were in dire need of more infantry..). I was wondering if anyone knew how soon we would deploy for war once our OSUT is over with.. We are kinda blood thirsty if you know what I mean, we strongly disagree with what those bastards do over there and we want a shot at them asap. Is there any way to request to deploy right after OSUT?

I am considering putting in a package for STA-21 Naval Officer Commissioning program. I am currently enlisted and have almost 5 years in. I am an AW, rank E-5, Fully qualified. I am interested in putting in my package for the NFO program option, being that I fly with them everyday and know what the job entails. I just have one question/concern....

I enlisted with a GED due to personal issues, Don't have much of a Highschool transcript. I Scored above average on the ASVAB and obtained an SAT score of 1200 combined. I can get all of the recommendations needed.

My question is...Should I even "try" to submit a package for the program? Or will I be looked over because of the GED?


Does anyone know the approval rate? 1 out of 4?

I know American Soldiers are doing good helping Iraqis. But Ive seen a couple of videos where they have been killing innocent civilians, hurting/mocking innocent people including children, and alot more. From the Civil War, WW2, etc. times, soldiers were more serious about these situations. Why are modern day soldiers like this?
