I need to know if getting a Army ROTC or a Airforce ROTC scholorship worth the trouble. I'm trying my best to get one of them but my Army recruiter say's it is tough. I want to be an officer so that i can fly a helicopter. I really don't want to be a enlistee. Iam a senior at my school and i think it is too late to get a ROTC scholorship.

Well, he just left yesterday and was supposed to arrive in Illinois in the evening. When he arrives, he's required to call someone and let them know he arrived safely. But no one has received a call from him. He told me he'd call me and I would notify his parents. Do I have reason to worry?
And another question: Assuming everything is alright, am I allowed to send anything other than letters while he's at boot camp (i.e. pictures, care packages, etc.) Thanks.

Does someone with a GED have to score higher on their ASVAB and if so how much more? I am looking forward to joining with a GED and going Infantry. Also someone told me they only accept a certain percentages of new enlistees that have their GED, is that true? And if so what are my chances of getting recruited with my GED? I really am not looking for benefits, this is just a passion of mine.

Well since 8 i wanted to do it, And Finally i joined this year. I gotta call from my parents saying that they are cutting my tuition, any financial help, and not to return home. Well now i am very upset, and I dont know what to do. I am GMC Cadet not a scholarship cadet, but i really don't want to quit. All my life, I just dreamed of being an AF Officer. Everything in my life revolved around the idea of being an officer. I haven even accepted in my life that i won't be rich or anything, because i will be in the military. I always did well in school with the only motivation that i need to do well to become a officer. Its over now. I am done.

If you were President Truman in 1945, knowing that:

a)The defeat of the Japanese was a matter of time and lives.
b)The invasion of the Home Islands would have created a suicidal defence against any invading force prepared to take heavy casulties beyond reason.
c)Any invasion force facing such fierce resistance would pay a terrible price in lives (which you had sworn an oath to protect).
d)Russian influence would increase in Asia as it had in post war Europe as Stalin was about to honour his treaty obligations now that Germany had been defeated.
e)You had at your disposal a weapon of incredible destructive power, which if used may well bring about an early victory and keep the Soviet war machine from being directed against former allies should the balance of world politics change.
f)That each weapon if used would destroy a complete city, kill thousands upon thousands of civilians instantly, maiming and wounding many thousands more possibly for generations to come.

Hi, ok...My fiance is in the Army. Well, He is in GA. right now doing his basic training. He don't graduate until November 07'. He is having trouble doing the requirements. He knew of them when he enlisted. But, he thought he could handle it, but now, that he is actually doing it he is having trouble. Oh, and he did a march on the 20th of this month and messed his hip up and they said that he might get a medical discharge, but if not. He wants out. I need help trying to get him out. 1-He isn't fit for this, 2- He is hurt, 3- This isn't the life for him, 4- He is Epoleptic (However you spell that), but, He didn't tell them that when he enlisted. So far he hasn't had any seizers yet, but im worried about him. If he does end up having a seizer then I don't know what will happen. I told him to tell them that he was epoleptic, but he said he can't because they will get him for false information at enlistment. He has 2 kids that are in foster care, a 3 yr. old boy, and a 5 yr. old girl, that need there daddy, and they are trying to take his rights away because he went in the Army. I can't fight for them because we aren't married yet. I need to get him out of this!!!! Can you help me please? ANYONE?

My husband is active duty AF and we have been at our first duty station for a little over 4 years. We absolutely hate it here (Cannon AFB). He said he has done all that he can do (Updating his "Dream Sheet"). What more can he do to get orders to another CONUS base? He doesn't want to do special duty.
I know the Navy and Coast Guard have "detailers" that they work with. Does the Air Force have someone like this?
Please help!

How about this scenario. A lieutenant is ordered to take a group of 25 soldiers up a hill to take it....using nothing but small arms and with no other support. Problem is the hill is heavily defended by at least 100 enemy soldiers who are well dug in and have grenade launchers and heavy machine guns.
The lieutenant says to his superiors he needs more help. They tell him to get going... What are his options?

I'm really thinking about joining the coast guard but there are a lot of questions there website doesn't answer.
1. How long is an enlistment.
2. What college benefits do you recive from it?
3. How is there basic training like compared to the other branches?
4. Just a general idea of how it is to serve in the coast guard. I'm going into Health Services Technician (HS)

Note: I will be talking with a recurtier this week. Just wanted a little information before I go in blind sided.

its good benifits right? but everyone sits at home on the couch. not even giving it a second though. Is it because it's hard?

i try and promote the army as a good option for anyone. it teach's good skills, not only teamwork and leadership but many more. I just don't understand why someone wouldn't want to join the bundeswehr? or any other army for that matter. it is disgracefull to work hard to defend your country and then watch these movies that make it seem like you could walk through bootcamp in 2 days. My god.
news like the dis-respectfull Citizen is almost unwelcome to me as the time i heard that the United States army was issuing they're 'soldiers' "Stress cards" Lmao. even reduced the yelling. thats another thing, the US army is geting pethetic. i mean i got hit, yelled at and assaulted in every way to break me down and remake me. What's happening to the world? the world where everyone respected a good soldier? a world where everyone joined the military?
