Does someone with a GED have to score higher on their ASVAB and if so how much more? I am looking forward to joining with a GED and going Infantry. Also someone told me they only accept a certain percentages of new enlistees that have their GED, is that true? And if so what are my chances of getting recruited with my GED? I really am not looking for benefits, this is just a passion of mine.

GED holders must score a 50 on the ASVAB (instead of a 31-35 depending on Branch). Army takes the most GED holders each year, with AF taking none at all currently and the Navy and CG taking them only if you have 15 college credits along with.

score a fifty or higher so you can get the extra benefits, there are also waivers for people that dont score high enough on the ASVAB for enlisting too, and for failures, so the Army just changed the p[olicy on GEDs too, along with tattoos and a few other things, like they Upped the Age limit to 42

I don't think you have to worry to much about getting recruited. As long as you can obtain a resonable score on the ASVAB I am sure your having a GED will not be a problem.

you need to score at least a 31 on the asvab, go to military.com to take practice asvab tests. or go to march2success.com to practice the latter one being the best of all. if you want more info about the army and a GED contact me at my official email below
