Iraq will need to go back to the drawing board, because democracy combined with various sects of Islam will never work. In place of this mess they now have, a secular government absent of religion and Islamic bias must be established. If this is not possible, than dividing the country into three provinces and equal profit sharing for all, is the only logical solution. One thing more must happen. Al Maliki must go, he is nothing more than a puppet for Ahmadinejad.
In the event of war with Iran, it is my belief that Iran will fold like a cheap suit. Once it is determined that an attack is necessary, it will be all out. The Pentagon model for an attack on Iran to capitulate, is less than a week. Will there be some surprises? Yes, there are always surprises. The Pentagon doesn't focus on what the other guy can do, as much as it focuses on what we will do to him.
Ahmadinejad is probably dumber than Hussein ever was, because he knows what we are capable of doing. If he believes his friends will help, he best reconsider, because we have a contingency plan for any of his so called friends if they decide to get involved.
What will happen in a post Iran attack is anyone's guess. We certainly won't be as naive as we were the first time around. One thing is a given, with or without an attack on Iran, the US will be in the middle east for a long, long time !

The war in Iraq will last as long as it takes to build a properly trained Iraqi police and military force. They have to take control over their own country, without U.S. support. But your talking about generations who grew up under the oppression of a dictator that would kill you if you disagreed with his policies. Plus their religion doesn't really condone the ways of the Western world. Women now over there are just being able to do certain things that women over here take for granted. The U.S. might have a long haul over there, change doesn't happen overnight. I'd say they will have a presence over there for maybe 20 years.
Getting into a conflict with Iran would be foolish at this point. The military is stretched too thin, and they would be facing a better opponent. Iran's army is better trained and have better equipment. Who do you think is blowing up our tanks over there? Iran and China are supplying the weapons for the insurgents.
The war in this country has already started, with illegals. But we have already lost that.
I think the war that the terrorists will bring here won't be anything like a full on military battle. It will be more like car bombings, maybe taking out the White House or Congress. Similar to the stuff that is going on in Iraq. Your going to work and someone blows themselves up at a busy subway, or sets car bombs at certain locations. People in America wouldn't know how to react and there will be chaos. I think there just waiting for the perfect time, like when Clinton gets elected. She'll be hanging her dildo's on her Christmas tree and then booooom.
Sorry it's so depressing, but that's just what I think.

1. This war has not even touched the time span of any of the world wars, and I'm fairly sure of Korea or Vietnam.
I predict IF we stop trying to legislate the war from congress we will accomplish our goals and help establish a peacefull government system. We need to let our Generals do their job.... that's why they're Generals.
I also predict that if we keep imposing phoney boloney time lines and restrictions even if we get out soon we will be right back within the year we pull out. Don't turn your back on a wounded animal any hunter will tell you.
Good Luck and God Bless

ok the reason the fight in iraq is taking so long is because there is not real target. they are just playing big brother to all the "helpless" people living there and taking out insurgents as they show themselves until a real form of government is put in place. plus we hardly have any troops there. if we put a real amount of troops and actually fight al quida and insurgents then maybe we could get a result. but if we just pull out now america will look like a wuss to the rest of the world. so what we should do is go in there wiht real numbers, and do what we need to do instead of just waiting to get attacked again. and as far as the possibility of war with iran goes. we are far superior to iran in numbers firepower and technology. and if we do go to war, we need to be very aggressive and crush them fast instead of this pussyfooting around like the way bush is doing. the only thing i think he has done right is the extra 20,000 troops that are supposed to go to iraq. but now there is word that were withdrawing. if we leave now iraq will just get worse and worse. as far as war in our own country? it is bound to happen. history will repeat itself. it may not be like the first civil war in america but with the crappy government that we have it is going to happen. that probably in the next generations life time too. and of course it will be the people who like the way that governement controls what we eat see do and everything else for that matter, against the people who want real freedom. but of course anarchy in never the answer.
the government should have a limit to power. which it really doesnt. who do they answer to? no one.

We have realized where we went wrong in Iraq and will stay their another decade or so helping them rebuild. With Iran we might go to war with them.
No, there will never be war in the US unless our enemies walk or fly here on United. (they have no navy transports or air force).
