Gun control doesn't work.

It only prevents law abiding citizens from owning weapons with which they can protect themselves.

Criminals will still find a source of weapons as most repeat offenders can't legally own one in the first place but they still obtain them somewhere.

I would like to point out that we already hae enough laws to dealing with this problem. What we don't have is enforcement of the laws already on the books.

g-day!

Gun control does not work. Places with stricter gun control also have higher crime rates. Criminals will get them no matter what, in fact most of their guns are illegal. All gun control does is take them out of the hands of responsible owners. I like to know that I can protect myself because I don't want to wait on the cops if there's a person with a gun pointed at me.

Well my idea of gun control is learning to use as many guns as possible. And my gun control works great. But US gun control only controls the people who are willing to obey the law. Criminals do not obey the law.

Gun control sucks and does not work. Gun control keeps law abiding citizens helpless while criminals and nut jobs run around armed terrorizing everyone else.

Waiting periods suck. In LA back in the 90s during the riots, law abiding citizens needed guns ASAP, but they had to wait!

An educated, armed populace is healthy for a country.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Everyone who answered agrees that gun control doesn't work (presumably you mean more stringent gun control than we already have). Didn't ANY Democrats answer your question?

All of the major Democrat contenders for the Presidency, and the vast majority of Democrats in the U.S. Senate and House favor far more stringent gun controls. Some of them, like Ted (1000% ammo tax) Kennedy and Diane ("Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in") Feinstein, would like to totally ban privately owned firearms, or tax them out of existence

I'm sorry to break it to all the people who posted above me, and to what I'm sure will also be about 99% of those who will answer after me, but gun control has nothing to do with violent crimes.
Don't believe everything the NRA tells you!!! I'm a gun owner and I think they're full of BS. I've read their magazine on several occasions and each time I've ended up stopping and shaking my head in disbelief. The NRA preys on ignorance and paranoia!
They're quick to show examples of how gun control doesn't work. They'll give lots of statistics on the US, Australia, the UK, etc. that "prove" their point.
What they also do is conveniently ignore other areas of the world that have strict gun laws. Japan, for example, has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the world yet ANY crime, much less those involving guns, is almost unheard of. It's one of the safest countries in the world.

Gun control only deprives law abiding citizens of their rights. I have not met a criminal yet that abides by the laws. So who really benefits from gun control laws?

If I was a Crook with bad intentions I would be in favor of Gun Control, better yet, I wouldn't want any of my victims to have guns. It would make my job a lot safer.

Hitler not only banned some people from owning guns, but he limited the numbers for others and kept records of those who had them. When the time was right, he knew no one would be capable of opposing him.

I don't think it works the only people who obey the law are the people who aren't a problem the criminals are the problem and they don't care what the law is they will get guns and use them
