Definitely The Archies, with "Sugar, Sugar".
What made them the most remarkable band among the "one hit wonders" was the fact that they never actually existed in the first place. They were all "studio musicians", and the album it was recorded on didn't actually have the same collection of people on any two songs. There was no band "The Archies", just a copyright on the name.
