No. The military does not directly fund dependents education anyways. The GI Bill, and multitude of other dependents scholarships (IE: MyCAA) do not pay for past education expenses or offer refunds/reimbursements to completed semesters for dependents.

The only branch now that is allowing the GI Bill to be transferred to the spouse or children is the ARMY. For this to happen you have to had served 6 years, reenlist for 4 to 6 more, & be a certain MOS. With this process it is only 18K and it means any reenlistment bonus is reduced. Other than that the only time that the spouse is able to use the GI Bill is if the AD is 100% disabled. The school that you use it for has to be an accredited one and approved by the military or VA.
If you wish to go to college then look for grants, scholarships or even take a low interest loan to do so.

The only branch I know that has tuition assistance for spouses is the Air Force and even then its only overseas PACAF bases, not every Air Force base, and they only pay 50%. But I'm not sure if it would apply to cosmetology school either.
I do know that alot of places offer grants and scholarships for military spouses. Would it be possible for you to go down and talk to the people at the education office? I know they are in general very helpful and love to help spouses with school questions maybe they know of a scholarship you could apply for.

Yes, a Soldiers GI Bill can be transferred to the spouse. This is now being done more and more. Ask your spouse to go through his/her chain of command to start the paperwork.

sorry but no, i am doing a animal care course at home and i pay for it myself.
They will only contribute money for study for the spouse who is in the forces not their dependents.
you could try the actual college to see if they can help with course fees if you are on a low income or breakdown the payments like i have done i pay so much per month over a 9 month period and you do not notice that it is gone if you were to pay it in full (and that costs a bit) so it is best to ask the college about payment situation.

They did off a program where the GI Bill could be transfered to a dependent. I am not sure if that program is still active. do not think the GI Bill will pay for cosmotology school though, but college it would.
In general, no, they do not pay for spouses.

I don't know for the Marines but I know in the Army the soldier can reenlist and give the GI BIll to the spouse.
Other than that you might be able to find special grants/scholarships but I don't think they pay for anything else.
You can contact the school you are interested in and talk to financial aid office they will give you all the information you need. You can also search on www.fastweb.com for scholarships.
