My 2 questions are;

1. Are you aware of any scientific, national, international, military or police reports of any ancient human discoveries where people (singular or plural ) appear to have been in a collective group and have died as a results of having become entraped within ice including; frozen tundra, pack ices or ice burgergs, rivers, lakes, & streams. Including within & outside or near to the Artic and or Antarctic circles?

2. Also, what methods and equiptment are the best to look for them?

I'm not looking for the next ice man. We all have heard about that one. I'm interested in something else.

Serious answers only.

Thanks,

Ed

Inar is only off on the "grass in the mouth" comment. I seem to recall it was undigested flowers found in the stomach indicating a rather fast demise for the animal.

This does not answer your question though. I have read a lot and do not recall any "groups" of animals let alone groups of people being found frozen. The exception being grave sites of well preserved non-Chinese (white) persons in the western part of the Gobi Desert. I think that was in "Discover" magazine many years back.

I only dig around the house. You can look for fossils and other artifacts at the base of Mt Diablo, Contra Costa County, CA at a site sponsored by Cal Berkley. They found a woolly mammoth fossil there in the 50's.

yes..back in the 20's a russian science expedition found a mammoth frozen in the tundra with grass still in his mouth...the head guy carved him up and served mammoth steaks at a banquets that same year....as for an ice man,they found a sacrifice in the peat of England some years ago...he was preserved by the peat..still had a garland of flowers around his neck...some kind of harvest sacrifice....they say to look along stream banks for the tundra to break or wash away and find stuff there...look for a strong smell
