I got a 7MP brand new not even a month ago, and while the pictures I take look great in the view finder, they look like crap on my computer. A friend of mine had changed some features to make pictures more high quality (not sure what he did) but the pictures are really awful. I had an EasyShare before, a 3.1MP, and it took way better pictures than this. Any suggestions?

Edwin, it's a shame being a condescending asshole doesn't actually help anyone. Otherwise, your answer would have been great. The ISO was set high, he and I both knew that, but the manual says it is supposed to make the pictures a better quality. Go crawl back under a rock and get more sleep, crab ***.

FOUND THE PROBLEM.
If ever someone with a similar problem stops by, then I have found the solution. Edwin (read below) said my friend probably set the ISO really high. That was not the case. The ISO was set on auto, which is how it came in the package. All my friend had done was adjusted my brightness. It turns out that the grainy pictures were a combination of a huge pixel quality and taking pictures too closely. If you find that you generally use your camera to take up close shots like I do, you should change the MP to 5. You may also want to change your ISO from auto if you think that's an issue, but that wasn't a problem for me. Hope it helps!

Obviously your friend knows even less about cameras than you. From your description, it sounds as though your friend has set the ISO very high.

Its time to actually READ & STUDY the Owner's Manual for your camera. It wasn't packed in the box as filler material - it is there so you can learn how to actually use your camera.
