I have this camera and recently the lens seems to have got damaged and the images I take are very distorted, so much that nothing can be made out of it. I want to know if this can be repaired and any idea how much it should cost, I like this camera quite as it is my first and would like to see it working all the way

I really like my little digital camera, don't want to fork out extra money for repairs right now but still would like to have a functioning camera. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? The lense also will not retract when I turn off the power. Please help!

My friend is looking to purchase canon S5 IS from US. Since there are good deals in US at this time, maybe due to thanks giving, the price of S5 IS is unbelievable 10K as opposed to 23K, I myself purchased here in India.

I wanted to confirm the genuineness and authenticity of the US purchased product in terms of quality and warranty? Are there any problems later, if bought from US. I am somewhat amazed at the low price.

Don't people understand what interpolated means!? Are they so focused on the 'more megapixels is better' idea that they fail to notice the stuff being advertised uses terms which are next to meaningless? Some smart and unscrupulous business is going to come out with a **20 MEGAPIXEL** (interpolated) camera and corner the market...

I'm looking to upgrade my digital camera, but I'm not quite ready to make the investment in a DSLR. Out of the cameras I've seen the Canon S5 IS seems like an affordable alternative that will provide me the freedom I'd like. My consistent problem with digital cameras has been that I tend to photograph in low light/high-activity situations, (concerts, plays, late night shenanigans) and I'm always left with obscene digital grain, and unrecognizable blur. Does the Canon S5 IS have the ability to photograph well in these conditions?

It is a Nikon. Next week I pick up my new D300. I went to sell my old Nikon and all I was offered was a measly 400 dollars. What!! How can that be? It's only 3 years old.

this camera is old, 30-40 years old. i'm trying to figure out if I can still use this one or if I should just get a new one. i'm fooling around with it a little and I find that even though i turn the lens to 0.5 ft, looking through the viewfinder is blurry until like 1 foot away. with my digital camera, i can bring the camera up close in macro mode and get a great detailed shot. do i need another lens or what?
