Hi,
I was using my Canon EOS 400D this morning. It was attached to a 50mm I.8 II lens. It had been working well until this morning, neither AF/MF was working...it could still take photos now and then but obviously the focusing isn't working.
THEN, I tried removing the lens - but failed! I pressed the button, turned the lens as usual...but it just didn't come off at all!

Has anyone ever come across the same problem? (with the same or other cameras?? )

I'm looking for a camera which is around $200 - $350.I like compact cameras but i do not mind 20mm - 3mm width camera .I want at least a 5 mega pixel camera.I also want a easy to use camera and a camera that has cheap memory cards and can store around 200 - 500++ pictures. If possible, i want a camera that can record video with sound for at least half and hour.

I have no intentions of doing anything professional with this which is why I'm likely to side with the XT, plus I could use that 200 to buy a lens or two, haha. So is there a reason I SHOULD consider the XTi?

I have 1800$ to use for this. I like to photograph very much, and was thinking about Nikon D80 18-135mm. But from all sites I hear Canon is best or Pentax. Can some experts tell me what to choose ? And also why

I have recently updated my window to vista, when i plug my camera to the computer to upload the images, my computer can not find the camera. I am thinking maybe vista does not support canon drivers.

does anyone know anything about this?

I've got a Rebel XT but plan to upgrade some day. Besides the garbage kit lens, I have a 50mm f1.4 and an EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM. I will worry about > 105mm later, but I really want a wide angle lens for my Europe trip in 6 weeks. The two lenses above were about $600 total.

I know the wide angles are expensive, and I've been eyeing the EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM for $700. Is there any other wide angle lens comparable to this but not quite so much?

If I record a film with a analog camera and then convert it with a converter to digital. Will the result be the same
as a recording with a digital camera?

Hi, I'm just starting to get into Photography and I found out my dad has an old Minolta Maxxum 9000AF with a plethora of lenses. I want to buy a Canon Digital Rebel XT.

Will the lenses that my dad has work with my new Canon ?

Thanks ^^

So, as I pursue my photography hobby more and more, I want to make the switch from point & shoot to SLR. Since all of the good digital SLRs are a little pricey, I want to be sure I buy the best choice. I don't have any experience with SLRs, so I am wondering if I should just go with a film SLR to learn the ropes, and then upgrade later vs buying a beginner digital SLR. I take photos now for personal gain, but want to transition over to professional photography gradually. What would you recommend?

I was going to buy a D40 the I saw the Canon G7.. I realize this is not an SLR but it almost seems to have the features of one. Full manual control (complete with little knobs on top).. plus I would actually carry it around with me. The D40 on the other hand is an SLR.. I really like it but it's a little bulky to be throwing in the backpack..

If you don't plan on buying lenses.. do you need an SLR? The G7 seems to be just that.. without the interchangable lenses.. It even has a hot shoe for external flash? Any opinions?

I am looking for a slim pocket digital camera but I would love for it to have the following features:

1. viewfinder (this is a must as I cannot always see well through LCD screens).

2. decent Optical Zoom capabilities (digital zoom is fine too but would like some optical zoom as it's superior).

3. capabilities to take video/sound recording.

4. capabilities to shoot photo after photo without a lot of delay.

I've been researching cameras with my husband for an upcoming holiday and each time we see one we like, we end up finding something we don't like about it or negative reviews. We just want a decent compact, stylish camera if this is possible. The viewfinder problem is especially annoying to us as viewfinders conserve batteries much better than LCD screen and they are easier to see through.

I hope someone will have some good suggestions for us :-)

Thanks,
Sissy

Hi there!
I need a camera to take photos, but it would also be nice to take some good video with. I've been considering three different cameras, HP R827 or Fuji Finepix Z3 or Olympus FE-230.

I don't know if it makes that much of a difference whether i have a 7,2 mpixels or 5mpixels resolution.
Also if i like the best video, is 24Fps really far from 30Fps, is it very notable in the video quality whether you have 24fps or 30fps?
How good is the quality on the video of these cameras? I'd really love to see an example of the quality, if any of you have exampels.
I will probably take the majority of pictures indoors, i've read that ISO is important when it comes to getting good pictures in low-light conditions, if this is so maybe i should get the Fuji Z3.

Let's say that all of them have the same price, which one should i buy? Please help me!

Hope it's not too confusing!!!!!!!

I dropped my Nikon D50 slr the other day and broke the lens. It was a Nikor 18-55mm. I am wondering if I should just buy another 18-55mm lens or if I should go ahead and upgrade to a better lens? Any suggestions?
