I've the slightest idea about digital cameras but I do know that I need one that simply can take quality close up pictures......Is there anything like this under $100 or even lower, $60 maybe??
I want to put these pictures online too

yes u can get them
but if no.of mega pixel is immaterial to u
then u can buy some old ones or if u are interested in new ones
what u do is buy some unbranded cameras with 2Mp or so and use them for ur urgent requirement

You can buy some off brands on eBay. But note the real heart of the camera is the lens. Depending on what make, size and quality of the lens (of course some other factors too) will vary the price of the camera. There are many cheap cameras. But keep an eye on the sites like http://www.deals2buy.com/ You should be able to pick up any 3 MP or below cameras now a days for less than $100. Good luck..

Cheap camera and quality close-ups do not belong in the same sentence. Most digicams have a close focus mode, symbolized by a flower icon. Try one of the entry level Canon, Olympus, or Kodak that would be around $100 or maybe a bit over. Or look for a used digicam on eBay.
