There's not that one special camera that will only work. In fact, you can buy almost any camera, but you need to know what you are looking for!
1) Make sure it has a lot of zoom! (Not digital zoom either, it makes the pictures look grainy. Go for optical zoom.)
2) Make sure you have at least 5 megapixels and you have the camera set on highest resolution rating. You may not get a large amount of pictures with this setting but buy a bigger card and it won't be a problem!
3) Just try to get close and use flash! (If you can do either of those, at least the first two points help!)

Please search Yahoo answers before you post a question. This gets asked nearly every single day. So here is the short answer. It's the camera you can't afford, and even if you could, you would not be allowed to bring it in. If you were able to sneak it in, you'd be asked to leave once you started using it. There are no cheap, compact style digital cameras that can take good photos at concerts.

A REAL CHEAP one...... MOST performers have an agreement with the venue to CONFISCATE all camera devices, if pictures are being taken.

A friend lost 2 camera phones,
2 separate concerts, because there was a NO CAMERA or RECORDING Device rule in affect.

Her insurance paid for the first, BUT the second happened less than a month later, so she had to buy a new phone.

You should not expect to be allowed to take pictures...and rightfully SHOULD lose the camera device if you take any pictures.

The best ones for that are DSLR, but you will probably not be allowed to take it in a concert hall.
A good camera for that work is the Panasonic Lumix FZ20 (and almost every Lumix FZ), because they have a good zoom and a very bright lens.
If it's still too large, try Panasonic's TZ1/2/3 series, Fujifilm F30/40 or Z5/10/100

Personally I'd say take a Canon DSLR like the 400D if you're on a budget or 40D if not, and a les such as a 100mm f2.8. The actual zoom is pretty decent and at 10 megapixels you can crop the image for better detail.

Otherwise, one of the newer Fuji compact zoom cameras will be a good choice.

You will either want to get a DSLR or the Fuji S6000fd. It has prob the best low light image quality of any compact camera. You could also check into the Fuji S9100.

Because most venues forbid cameras, get the smallest camera with the biggest lens opening you can find.

I have used many Nikon cameras, from amateur digicams to professional SLR's.

For meetings and concerts, their SLR camera equipped with external flash is normally enough. Or for better results you can have synchronised wall-mounted flash lights that fire in unison with your snaps. Results are excellent.

Any DSLR with a fast (f2.0 or f2.8) lens.

Check the back of your ticket. If it says NO CAMERAS ALLOWED and they find yours it will be confiscated and you probably won't get it back.
