I have this camera and recently the lens seems to have got damaged and the images I take are very distorted, so much that nothing can be made out of it. I want to know if this can be repaired and any idea how much it should cost, I like this camera quite as it is my first and would like to see it working all the way

The A95 would be regarded as an old or outdated model, having been released 3 years ago.

If the lens is damaged, then the cheapest option would be to buy a new one. The cost of trying to repair it (if that's at all possible) would exceed the cost of a new camera.

The benefits in buying a new camera are...better image quality, faster and newer technology and better features.

I feel the same way as you do regarding your first camera. Mine was a great camera in it's time but I found the need for more MP, and newer technology, so upgraded (and it was still working perfectly).
You won't regret it, I'm sure. Canon have some very good models available.

good luck...

Use the A95 as a paperweight or display piece and replace it with the Canon G9.

Digicams are disposable cameras and repairs are too costly to even consider.
