I really like my little digital camera, don't want to fork out extra money for repairs right now but still would like to have a functioning camera. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? The lense also will not retract when I turn off the power. Please help!

My daughter hit my digital camera when I was trying to take her picture. The camera fell out of my hand and hit the ground. I'm guessing that it landed on the extracted lens part and broke it. I too received a focus error. I couldn't figure out how to fix it and just replaced it. Cameras (and other electronics like cellphones) have so much tiny technology at play. Seems in most cases it will cost you less to just buy another than to attempt to have it fixed.

You can get a good camera at $150 or so. Better move quick. The holidays are coming!

R.I.P. Fuji FinePix A400. Gravity and water are the leading killers of digital cameras. Use it as a paperweight and enjoy shopping for your new camera.
