I'm an amatuer photographer. Last night a shot a group of people like around 4-5 pm , it was kind of dark already, and for some reason I couldn't get the backgroud to be lit. The subjects were ok, but the rest was dark. I tried different settings on the camera and the flash, but nothing worked.....any help??

Ok so I am new to this whole digital thing. But I took a few pictures with my brand new professional camera http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/529732-REG/Fujifilm__FinePix_F50fd_Digital_Camera.html I know its pro quality cause its got more megapixells than most and it has digital zoom of 8.2 (optical zoom is crap anyways). Anyways I took like a dozen pics with it and without even thinking I like took the digital film thingy out of the camera to put it in the computer. I didnt have the lights off and it got exposed to light. Oh my gosh!!! What do I do?!? I hope its not ruined. Anyways, I put it back in the camera as soon as I realized what happened but now I cant put any more film thingys in there until that one comes out.

Is it toast?

JK out.

I love photography, taking pictures and looking at them... I'm enrolled in a photography class which starts in a few months, so I do have some time to get a camera. But I'd like to get it before the class starts so that I can get used to it.

I had a Canon EOS 700 hand-me-down, which worked well for my other photography class, but it is broken and I'd like to upgrade.

It has to be 35mm. I need to be able to control the F-stop...SLR is a must...

Are there any cameras that use film...but show the picture on a screen? A mix of digital and film? Probably not..but it can't hurt to ask.

And price-wise... I can't spend TOO much...but I don't want the camera to be disposable cheap, so I will spend a few hundred dollars.

If you have any suggestions, please go ahead and post. :)

The digital camera fell of the camera stand and ended up falling on the lens. However, the only problem is the lens is busted, there seems to be no other damage to the macro lens. the camera is a EOS-1 DS Digital SLR. The camera is fine and working with its other lens. However I wanted to know if i had to buy a whole new macro lens or could i replace the glass on the lens.
