Relatively low. Most modern digital cameras operate in MegaPixels (MP). One MP is the equivalent of one million pixels. The more pixels obviously the better the quality. That said if the desired size of the picture is small and no zoom or magnification will ever be required 300k pixel camera will provide decent pictures. Most web pictures are downsized to maximize load times due to the small size low-res pictures have. The biggest advantage of having high MP cameras in the ability to magnify later on. A 8MP image printed out at regular size could easily be over 20 inches wide, twice the size of the length of a standard sheet of paper.

300K gives an acceptable VGA picture of 640 x 480. In fact, that's the standard for VGA.
However, a camera with only 300K pixels has been built to a budget so the lens is very likely to be rubbish.
In short, it'll probably take barely acceptable pictures which are only viewable on a PC screen in low res.

Pictures exactly like these, which are VGA images of 640x480 = 307,200 pixels or 300K. All but one of these were taken with a camera phone. The RAZR phone did better than the camera, but the camera was a real piece of junk.

If you like the Sony Cyber-shot with 10.1 mega pixels it's good. But you do get better quality pictures with an SLR if you do want a good camera i would say you at least spend some money on a Canon SLR or Nikon SLR even if you get the cheapest ones they make it will still be better then a point and shoot. it's worth it. PS. If you do buy and SLR be sure it comes with the lense if not it will cost you more.

That is 0.3 mega pixels (Less than any modern still camera.) As long as you do not try to make prints larger than 3" X 5" the quality may be OK.

Picture quality has skyrocketed in the digital cameras. Unless you are a camera freak, most cameras above 200K pixels should yield good looking pictures.

Dont underestimate a good lens, you could have 5 mp phone camera going through a tiny lens of plastic and it wouldnt look as good as a decent 2mp panasonic still camera. Samsung are really bad phone cameras.
i think sony own leitz and panasonic own leica so your very safe with either of those, but to answer your question it would look dated, blurred and crap!

It wouldn't take a very good picture, it will be fuzzy and low quality. Photos wont start looking good untill you get into the 5 megapixel range and up.

That photo would be amazing quality if you shrunk it down to the size of say a postage stamp.
