Ok so I am new to this whole digital thing. But I took a few pictures with my brand new professional camera http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/529732-REG/Fujifilm__FinePix_F50fd_Digital_Camera.html I know its pro quality cause its got more megapixells than most and it has digital zoom of 8.2 (optical zoom is crap anyways). Anyways I took like a dozen pics with it and without even thinking I like took the digital film thingy out of the camera to put it in the computer. I didnt have the lights off and it got exposed to light. Oh my gosh!!! What do I do?!? I hope its not ruined. Anyways, I put it back in the camera as soon as I realized what happened but now I cant put any more film thingys in there until that one comes out.

Is it toast?

JK out.

Oh Pam, thanks so much. So what should I tell the people at the drug store when I get the film developped, is it 110 film or do I call it disk or what? Honestly I cant even tell how they get the film in that tiny canister. And what does AAA mean, is that better film?

OK first off the type of film that is ruined by light is silver based and you would have to remove it from the canister. Second a digital camera does not contain film so light is not a problem. The memory card is not something that can be ruined by room light and room light will not effect the photos stored digitally on the card.

You should take a photography class so you will better understand how you camera works.

A professional camera is not judged by the amount of pixels it has but what can be done with the camera. The camera you purchased is considered a point and shoot not a professional camera. Sorry to tell you. That does not mean it is not a great camera and you can take fantastic photos with it. Have fun and experiment, that is what photography is all about.

get some 120 film - one sheet will do, get a digital cannister

goto a dark cupboard, make sure theres no light what so ever, then use a razor blade and cut the sheet film into 36 pieces, using the razor blade open the canisiter, then without getting blood everywhere, load the film into the canister, use black duct tape to seal the edges for light leaks-

when the camera says you have taken 36 shots, take the cannister into the developers - dont take any crap from them, tell them you want 8x12's on matte paper at full gloss and a pixel size of 1 inch - i find these results most pleasing

D - I think you covered it ALL in this question. Well done!

This reminds me of the country song that included losing the girl, the pickup truck, the CB radio and the dog all in one verse, so...

If you play the song backwards, you get your dog, CB, truck and girl back.

Try this with your camera and see if it works. Put the digital film back in the camera and try to view your images. I'll bet they are all miraculously restored.

oh man not only you ruined your memory card, you also ruin your camera! now you can't take good picture with your professional anymore. Not even with the manual book in your left hand and the camera on your right hand
