The digital camera fell of the camera stand and ended up falling on the lens. However, the only problem is the lens is busted, there seems to be no other damage to the macro lens. the camera is a EOS-1 DS Digital SLR. The camera is fine and working with its other lens. However I wanted to know if i had to buy a whole new macro lens or could i replace the glass on the lens.

If its a Genuine Canon macro it might be worth repairing - just go to canonusa.com for a list of service centers.. If its an after-market brand use it as a paperweight and buy a Genuine Canon macro.

It might be worthwhile to have the camera checked for hidden damage. It may seem to be working fine but the fall could have damaged the lens mount or jarred the sensor, causing misalignment.

You might want to get a better quality camera stand.

The lens is made of glass and once broken, cannot be repaired anymore. You cannot do sectional repair either like replacing only the broken glass. The only choice is buy a replacement lens which will give you the option to improve or getting a better specs and quality suited to your needs.
