I'm looking for a good inexpensive digital camera. I've got a Canon Digital Elph Power Shot SD10 4.0 Mega Pixel. I love the camera I just want a higher mega pixel and if possible a better battery life. This one sucks up the battery within a half hour. BTW... I take LOTS of pictures. Any sugestions?

Now i already have the z740 and the series 3 dock which makes me a little partial to the Kodak, the problem is i have children, and the 740 takes a while to focus, and i sometimes miss the picutre. I've played with the p850 and i love the fact that i can purchase an additional flash with it which would come in great for school plays and such. But the 612 seems a little more pratical. and i'm wondering if with the image stabelization i would be able to turn off the flash and get good pictures. I'm just so confused. The reason i threw the canon up there is everyone is telling me thats the way i want to go. Someone please help me!!

Mum recently bought a Polaroid i532 camera but took it back to the shops 24hrs later because the batteries were showing full power but the camera kept switching off and saying they were empty. We hadn't used the camera a lot, only took a few pics and changed the setting, maybe had it on for a total of 30 mins max!
That wasn't the question though

She now wants to buy a new one, one that's good for beginners (someone who's never had a digital one before), a good sized screen, good battery life (lol) - preferably rechargeables, doesn't necessarily have to take videos but should have a good zoom on it, should cost under €200 and is not from Polaroid.
Can anyone suggest any good ones?

What should I be looking for? I used to have a Nikon SLR and sold if for a straight digital, big mistake..... Should I stick with Nikon ? This will be my last camera as I'm retired and it's got to last for a long while.

(Sorry if this is incredibly simple for you techno people!). I'm going to buy a digital camera. It says it comes with 2 AA alkaline batteries, and a USB connection. To charge it, would I replace the batteries.... or plug it in to the computer (like you do with an iPod)?
