Forget it. They totally suck! Alkalines have a little more that 1.5 volts per cell, whereas rechargeables have 1.35 Volts. It may not seem much of a differnece, but when paired in 4's for example,
you only get 5.4 volts, that go down in a hurry. Lower voltage causes a higher drain on the equipment and also causes some electonic devices to malfunction. If it's cost, get Wal-Marts generic Alkalines. They are made in the USA by the Copper top people and cost a lot less that the brand name.

Whomever said alkalines don't own a digital camera! My Panasonic got 7, count em, 7 whole pictures out of alkalines, while my Ni Cad recharables got 15 and my Nickel Metal Hydride NI MH) got 50 per charge!
If you don't want NI MH, try LITHIUM dispoable, which tend to give 200 pictures per set of AAs.
A lot depends on what you do. My rechargables work best in digital cameras and my LED flashlight (current ones have been in there for over 2 months and still work). They don't work as good as alkalines for my Walkman or portable Radio. Alkalines give me 3 weeks, while NI MH give me 2 weeks.
Normal batteries, while stronger in voltage, drop in voltage after a load is placed on them. No so with recharables! Both Ni Cad and NI MH hold their 1.25 volts over most the miliapeerage usage, while Alkalines drop soon after the load is put on and continue to drop as the amperage drops.

I bought the energizer ones that come with a charger, they work best for my digital camera. It costs like... 10 or 15 dollars.

Check the MAH on the label of the batteries. 2000mah-2500mah should be good enough for most digital cameras.

They are ok for some people. But for cameras I'd use standard batteries.

yes, you should use them. They dont cost much more than regular batteries do, and you can use them over and over, making up for the cost. Less pollution and trash for the environment too.
