There are lots of good pieces of equipment out there right now, but if I was going to purchase a digicam for $300 or less I'd go with the Canon Powershot A620 7MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom. It's compact, shoots at 7 megapixels (which means you should get good photos upto 15x20), and features an optical rather than digital zoom (digital zooms interpolate pixels which degrade images, not good). This camera is featured at Outpost.com for $249.99 and can be seen by following the link below. As far as my camera, I own a Canon 20D.

GO to Dell.com and click on the electronics/accesories. Dell sells many different digital cameras from various manufactuers. Each camera has a significant amount of information detailing their attributes. I just bough a Canon camera for about 270.00 that is extremely nice; 5 megapixel with a good optical and digital zoom. Usually, digital cameras from Dell (and others) come with a very small digital memory chip. I bought a 1 gig chip from Best Buy on sale with a rebate for 32.00. A one gig chip will give you at least 1000 picures at the lowest setting.

Go for a new Canon or Casio Exilim model. Both are extremely compact, high megapixel cameras with huge screens. Or you couldn't go wrong with a little big fatter HP with a smaller screen but more optical and digital zoom.

$300 budget-

Hope this helps a lot. Frome experience I've gone with the Casio, even though they aren't as well known. They offer a wide variety of features that other cameras don't. Browse through Best Buy, Circuit City, and Costco for the best prices. I would definitely choose between Casio Exilim and Canon Powershot and HP cameras with high optical and digital zoom.

You should get a Kodak EasyShare C310 bundled with the photo printer. The pictures are perfect.
