The best way to not get redeye is to wait until after the foto until you light up!

If you want to prevent it while taking the pictures, if possible, some cameras are equiped with a feature to add a strobe to the camera (an additional flash). They completely elimate redeye in every picture, but they will cost you an extra $200 for a good one.

Also most cameras have a setting on the camera's internal flash so where it will be auto-redeye. Meaning the flash will flash if the camera thinks it needs it and the camera will try to prevent red eye.

But if you already have taken the picture and simply want to edit it, use any one of the programs that are listed here and you should have got one when you originally bought the camera.

You can either do it on your camera if you have the option to do it before the pictures are printed (usually in the playback mode). There's also a flash feature that automatically takes it out if you have that on your camera. You can also use some sort of photo editing program (they all should have that feature). But if your pictures are already printed and you want to remove the red eye, the sell pens like this:

that "remove" them. I haven't used these, so I'm not sure if they really work.
If none of this works, you should have them not look directly in the camera/flash.

Hopes this helps!

You can get rid of redeye by using a photo editer like HP image zone and just click on the red eye remove button and it will remove it. Or you can just not turn the flash on.

red eye occurs when the flash is close (on same plane) to the lens and shines through to the retina. Unfortunately, most point and shoot cameras are small and there is no way to avoid. Most point and shoot cameras have a red eye reduction feature which will lessen the effect. The camera fires a series of pre-flashes that causes the iris to contract before the actual capture. This lessens the amount of light that shines through to the retina thus reducing red eye. Most editing programs and online printing sites have options for red eye reduction during processing.

As to why you are the only one who has red eye in the pic, it is because of where you are standing in relation to the lens/flash. Chances are you are the one directly in front of the camera and the effect is greatest on you.

Once you get on the computer there should be some software that came with the camera, install it and then you will have a place to edit your pictures, which you can use to get rid of redeye.

The Canon and Sony new digital cameras, have an special red eye function that makes the flash works stroboscopic and no red eye will appear in your pictures...
Otherwise, if you have a regular camera, try to take your picture from left to right if the "flash", is needed, the red eye appears because the flash light reflex in human retina, if you take your picture from right to left or left to right, your flash will not be reflected in your objective eyes.....
