I have a Samsung digital camera - price about $300. I dropped it in sand at the beach. Now the lens will not extract (open) as it should when we turn the camera on. Can it be cleaned so that it works? What is the cost to have a digital camera cleaned/repaired? Thanks

Ever since my camera got a bit wet, the "Print" button is lighting all the time, I can't use the zoom function, nor can I operate the menu system, or delete/scroll between the photos in the Playback Menu. Could it be possible that I need to take it to a Canon repairer, or could it be that the Print button blocks everything down? (I'm not at home, so I cannot use my transfer cable to check it if I could use all the menu functions after I have printed some images..) Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking of getting one for my nephew for Christmas. I want one that takes decent pix, but also one that's sturdy for him and that I won't feel too badly if he does break it (i.e., nothing too expensive). SD Card compatibility is a plus. The Fisher Price kid-tough camera, looks too basic for his age, and I'm reading that the Disney ones aren't very good either...

I think my camera was at the bottom of my backpack for a couple weeks. I don't think that could have done anything to the screen though.

i took a remote control, aiming at my camera and look at the LCD screen on my camera. my camera sees the IR light from the remote control. but it seems that almost all cameras, my phone camera and web cam, they all take in IR.

i read from some places that devices like web cam, they sometimes block away IR with some filter. but why do cameras block IR?

it seems to me that most camera devices, camera, handphone and web cam, they all allow IR to go in.

Hi there!

I'm 15 year old and I'm very interested in photography. I am currently using a digital camera. I was thinking of getting Canon EOS 400D but being 15, I can't afford it. So I was thinking of getting a film one. I checked Ebay and I saw this Nikon F50 together with a 18-55mm lens at quite a reasonable price.

I'm not looking for anything fancy but I'd like to know more about this camera. Do you think it's advisable for a 15 year old like me to buy it?

Want to buy the in-laws a digital camera. Easy to use, minimum of features - they just take snapshots. I think AA or AAA batteries over recharge...they'll forget to recharge and won't be able to use camera. Image stabilization? Budget around $200. Suggestions?

The camera used to work perfectly but the last few times I realized this problem and it is getting worse. The pictures are coming out with vertical lines and not focused right. Is it possible to fix this? Did you have similar problems. It is a 5 mega pixel camera about 3 years old.

I recently bought a S3 IS, and I've been having trouble with image stabilization. Generally what happens is the picture will show to be in focus, but when I take it, it quickly unfocuses and comes out blurry, or it just won't focus at all. I mainly have a problem with this when I use it outdoors and close up. I've played around with the settings, I use the flash, and I don't have shaky hands, but so far nothing's worked.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, because I need the camera to work for my photography class!

I just ordered a Rebel online but heard that the batteries only last 1/2 hour. Is this true? I dont understand why such an expensive camera would come with a battery that only lasts that long.

Have 2 different cameras. Sony and Fuji. I have each software that came with cameras on computer.
When I transfer photos from Sony camera to computer it's picked up on computer by Sony and Fuji software. Same when I transfer photos from Fuji camera, it's picked up by Fuji and Sony.
I guess this is ok..should I be aware of anything since I get double photos on computer? Also, the photos look identical from each software. Should there be a slight difference in color between each?
