so far, I am only aware of kodak v610 having this function. looking for other alternatives..

looking for cameras with the stitch function built into camera so that i do not have to stitch pics on a computer. so far only camera i know of with function built in is the kodak v610. any other alternatives to recommend?

I don't think cameras have built in panorama stitchers. Normally, this is done by a program on your computer. Many consumer digital cameras include a rudimentary stitcher program with the software CD included with the camera.

If you want to step up to a much better panorama stitching program, you can use Hugin which is free.

Unfortunately, it's not the easiest program to figure out since Hugin is a wrapper for many different tools written by other people for creating panoramas. However, the results are on par or better than programs costing $250 or more.

the nikon p3 and p4 models have what's called panoramic assist. It's pretty neat. You take a picture (the left one first), then a ghost image of the right side of that picture appears on the next picture, then you line up the image as much as possible, then take the next one....next picture has a ghost image, etc. But you need to stitch them together in a software program. They might provide that, I'm not positive.

I believe some Olympus cameras have this ability.
