its like this, lens quality is key, crap lens 12mp of crap, good lens 12mp of good info

Massive megapixels do not always translate into better image quality. Go to shutterbug.com and read the article "The Pros & Cons of Pixel Packing" which is in the Nov. 2007 issue.

Although not a "scientific" test, it is worth reading.

The review I read on your Casio seemed to indicate it has a lot os useful features, especially manual control.
