No, It is not valid in Canada,
I bought a Canon V631 Digital Camera and I asked the people at circuit city if it was valid in Canada because I live there and they said No because they are two different contries in North America and if I wanted a warrenty taht was valid here I would have to buy one in Canda.

Contact Canon or ask a salesperson at a real camera store. I know Canon releases the same model under different names for different geographic areas of the world but that's done to combat the gray market. Or email henrys.com - he is a Canadian camera store owner who sells a lot on ebay.
Last time I checked Canada was still part of North America.
