I want an amazing photography camera.
not a little digital one, but a old school looking one, I have no idea what they are called.
SLR? with a good mm lens.
I plan on taking fast motion picutes and ones of the outdoors.
if you know of a amazing camera with a decent price, tell me.
but if the best only comes with a huuuge fee, I can deal with it.

thankyou :)

You want a 35mm SLR. There's quite a few of them out there (check your local Craigslist) because people have abandoned them for digital.

I'd suggest the Canon EOS or Nikon N series, as they are compatible with many current lenses for the newer cameras. I have several Nikon N's as well as a great FE. They're solid, well built cameras with amazing capabilities.

If you want a new 35mm, look into a Nikon FM-10, as it's available for under $250 with a 35-70mm zoom lens. You can pay more, but I think it's always better to start off with a beginner camera and some other lenses to broaden your photographic horizons.

Also consider a Canon Rebel K2. It comes with a 28-90mm lens for under $190.

I hope this is helpful for you.

All of the major brands are good. Choose a brand that appeals to you. Then you have to think about getting a spare battery, what size memory card, if you want an extended warranty, how much you can afford, what size zoom, if you want manual controls, the size of the camera, finding a reliable place to purchase it, and the list goes on and on and on.......

The first thing to realize is that almost any digital camera will take good pictures. If more people would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it could be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading on the internet.

I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras so they can decide on the features that they really want and need.
Go to the store and hold them so you can see if they feel comfortable in your hands. If possible, take some pictures in the store to check the quality of the pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.
Good Luck

Slow down. Take a deep breath. Now enroll in a photography class at your high school or community college. Learn lighting, composition, shutter speeds, ISO and f-stops.

Once you know something about photography you can make an intelligent decision about a new camera.

After all, we go to school to learn math, science, history. Why should photography be any different?

We learn to drive and get our driver's license before we get a car. Photography is no different.

There are several cameras that comes with said feature of course with added price tag to it.

Even I am looking for the same set of features. The following cameras I summarized :

- Canon 40 D ( released this august http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/canon_eos40d.asp)
- Niknon D300 (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0708/07082313nikond300.asp)

Both are good but at the same time confuses a lot :)

Hope it helps.

I keep a tab on this question to see any better answers.
