They are old 1953 slides and have a little mildew on acouple of them. I want to have them made into prints

I'm thinking distilled water and a cotton bud and very careful cleansing. You would have to be careful not to damage the emulsion layer.

But if they are really important to you, you should consider getting them cleaned professionally. Companies who deal in cine film transfers often have cleaning facilities.

Mildew "eats" the emulsion so you probably won't be able to get rid of it.

Clean them with NEW mildew.
