Hi there,

I am wondering if there is a legitimate place online where I can find an old 35 mm Nikon for sale. Price is no object, as long as it works as it should!

I normally use a digital Nikon D50, but I really miss working with black and white film and I would like to revert back to film in order to start work on my newest project.

Also, where should I look for a Fisheye and Macro lens? I know of a million sites online where I can buy, but I have a bad history with buying online and I'm very hesitant to make any purchases. Can anyone put in a good word for a legimate site that has what I need?

Help! Please and thanks in advance!

Consider your local edition of Craigslist. There, you can post a wanted ad, or look over the daily for sale ads that people put up in the camera area.

You contact the people online via your phone or email, as you wish. Then, you can meet them and handle the camera equipment before paying for it. I've gotten several items including some nice lenses that way.
Just click here, then choose your state/community to find local sellers.

Hope this helps.

I won't hesitate to recommend KEH.com for used equipment.

I've ordered a good amount of equipment from them. Their prices are generally quite reasonable, and the items are often better than described(I've had excellent luck with BGN grade equipment).

They also have an excellent 14-day no questions asked return policy and a 90 day warranty on all of their used equipment. I've have, on occasion, received non-functional equipment, however they've always replaced it at no additional cost to me(including shipping). Be warned, though, that unless you tell them that you need the replacement in a hurry, expect to wait 2-3 weeks for the replacement. If you need it in a hurry, they'll bill you for a new one, sent out immediately, and then refund the old one when they receive it.

B&H and Adorama both also have used departments. Their prices are generally higher, though, and they don't have as good of selection. I haven't ordered used equipment from either, though, as KEH has never come up short on me.

B&H and Adorama either one, though, would be an excellent place to buy a macro and/or fisheye lens if you're looking for a new one.

B&H Photo has used equipment and they grade every thing they sell. I've used their website to make numerous purchases and they are as legit as can be. Your local camera store sells used equipment also, though any more what I see there are older digital cameras, but they have film cameras, also. And as the other poster mentioned, the advantage of Craigslist over eBay or the such, is that it is local and you can see the equipment before you invest.
