I'm just getting used to my digital camera. I took some pics, and put the memory card in the card reader that's built into my pc. I went to the Smartmedia folder and then clicked on the camera's name, and then it showed me the pics I'd taken.

So does this mean that my pics are successfully stored on my pc? I don't see an obvious "save" button there. I just want to know if it's safe to delete the pics from the memory card so I can take more pics. I just don't want to lose the first set of pics.

So basically, once the card reader helps your pc see the pics, are they saved?

you need to select all pictures
right click on the first one
and copy them to another folder
they are still on your card

no ur just acessing the cameras memory. you need to drag or copy the files to a folder on ur pc (like "My Pictures") then when you can unplug the camera and still access ur pics u know they are saved

most software has little boxes for a checkmark to select photos either saved or deleted
