I have a Canon XTi that works fine with the EF 18-55mm f4-5.6. I was able to change the shutter speed under the Tv mode and the aperture under the Av mode. Also, I was able to adjust both under the M mode. BUT, when I use the EF 75-300mm f4-5.6 len, i have a f00 reading at all time (not blinks). I can't change the aperture (even under the Av mode), only the shutter speed. Is the len defective or is there something i'm missing or not doing it right? Also, how come the camera show a f value greater than the len indicated ie on the EF 18-55mm f4-5.6 len, I could dial it up to f16 and beyond? Is f stop and f value are the same (aka aperture, right?)?

I have a webcam, and it can create time lapses. I wanted to create a time lapse of the sun, but I wasn't sure of one thing - if I point the webcam (or any camera) at the sun, will any damage come to it?

I've noticed that the new Nikon DSLR like D300 and D3 are using new Nikon made CMOS called EXPEED. I've read from somewhere as well that the previous nikon Digital cameras are using Sony's made censor. I've always asked the Nikon shops why Nikon, who reputed to make good Cameras doesn't produce their own Censor, and the answer I've always got was that there's no need to as it is better to buy what other manufacturers are good at making and already spent loads of money researching on it already than developing themselves. Here we are the EXPEED. What do you think?

i have a lumix fx-8.the camera works fine.the pics come out clear.and when sufficient light falls on the display you can make out the image but since the light does not work it is difficult to take pictures.

will getting the ic changed solve the problem?

Canon IXUS 70 photo camera comes with the standard rechargeable Li-ion Canon battery type "NB-4L".

I want to buy one more so I can always have a spare charged battery when the current one needs recharge. Do you suggest buying the same as the one that came with the camera or is there a better alternative (preferably with more capacity)?

Hi, I was wondering if anybody could tell me how i can use a 50mm lens on my Nikon d40? Do I have to change the settings on my camera? Will I damage my camera if I use it in a certain mode?

I've read a lot of sites and answers where they say the 50mm lens will mount on the Nikon D40 but won't auto-focus, however, none of them say how to actually use this lens on the camera. I would greatly appreciate any advice on this!

Thanks! :)

I have several film cameras in good working condtion. A few are point-and-shoot, including one Nikon that takes panoramic photos. I also have a nice film SLR canon camera. The problem is, I don't use film anymore. Who would want these cameras? Would any charities be able to use them?

Will the battery charger shown here definitely plug into a wall socket? I can't check the manual, it's a gift I'm getting tomorrow and need to know if I have to buy a special plug (If the charger only plugs into a compputer). So will this battery charger definitely plug into a wall socket?

PS: I know I just asked this question but I think the way I worded it may have been a little sketchy. Thank you to fhotoace, who answered my last question. Your answer helped me, but oyu didn't focus much on the battery charger part of it.

I have to know asap because I leave early in the morning and won't be near a computer for a few days.

I received this camera as a gift about a month ago, at first it was working fine. Then my husband started playing with it and he doesn't remember what he did, and now I cannot get the flash to work at all. I am still very new with this camera and like it alot. I don't want to wreck it by playing with it blindly. I would really appreciate any help you could give. I really need to get it working before Christmas day. Thanks.

I have a camera I bought from Circuit City and I got it for around $150.00 I think. I also got the extended warranty they offered for two years, it's been a little over 1 year since Septemberish and I was wondering if I "dropped it ; )" the lady said they give you a credit for the store and you would just pay the difference if you wanted a more expensive camera. I want a new one that has sound with video and not just video because I don't find the point to videotaping on my camera if I can't hear whatever I recorded.

The digital camera I have is ancient. It still takes ok pictures, but it freezes up a lot and it's HUGE. I go to a lot of shows, so that's a main priority I'm looking at while searching for a new camera. I want something compact with a pretty big screen, and something that will take great concert pics. Nothing too flashy or expensive, just enough to take quality pictures and decent editing software. Any ideas?
