My Praktica DCZ 5.3 has gone completely dead?

I've tried different batteries, plugging into a PC via USB, but ,alas, no sign of life. Is it time for a new camera? Or can this one be rescued

It could be something very inexpensive to fix or it could be very expensive. You should have it diagnosed.
