i have a lumix fx-8.the camera works fine.the pics come out clear.and when sufficient light falls on the display you can make out the image but since the light does not work it is difficult to take pictures.
i gave it to a shop and they told me the problem was with the ic.i had given it to sum other place and they had told me the problem was with the lcd light and that it could not be fixed.
will getting the ic changed solve the problem?

Well the second person was right. It is the display backlight, you better replace the display with a good one. And better by an authorised service personal.
