my camera-FUJIFILM FinePix A510, works buts wen i try to takes pictures it cuts out but the lense is stil out i keep on switching it on and trying again but it wont work. i dont think its the batteries, and i havent got it wet so wat is it?

oh yeh and ofcourse ive looked at the instructions- they didnt seem to help!

it cuts out like turns off? then there's a defect. if you're SURE it's not the batteries. i'd advise to change the batteries, not just rearrange them and see if still happens, if it doesn, return it.

you mention batteries are you using rechargeables? ,these will help as the single use type will last around 30 seconds or an hour if you're very lucky

if you're using rechargeables make sure they are a good brand cheap ones have a dreadful record for not performing properly

if it's under 6 months old you can get a refund from the shop under the trades description act. because you can argue that it is unfit for purpose(taking photos) (they) the retailer must offer to get it repaired for you in the 1st year,you can argue that since the camera hasn't worked properly since purchase and as long as they cannot prove accidental damage or misuse you can get a refund or an exchange under the above legislation

Hi. Sounds like the lens tube got moved. It doesn't take much to bind it. Some times gently (GENTLY) wiggling it can loosen the tight spot.

i had same think with my camera, Sony(that doesn't matter). it's the batteries! try charging them :D
