I have a burner but I cannot burn stuff. I somehow did something to my Nero and it will not do anything. My dvd shrink no longer works. I do not want to burn illegal stuff but my son found a way to block his dvds that he made. He is only 12 years old and I need to know why he does not want me to see them.

okay i have a custom built computer it has a msi k8t neo-v motherboard socket 754, a amd athlon 64 2.0 processor, a ati radoen 9250, 2 sticks of 512 mb of ddr226, a uneec 300w power supply, 2 maxtor hdds a 30gb and a 40gb.now its been working and hasnt had a problem for over a year. well i never turn it off cuz im always on it. its been on for like a month and i finally turned it off i let it sit for like 5 hours then turned it back on. it makes like a static noise like short circuit noise from either the motherboard or powersupply well when its on it will run for not even 10 seconds and then shut off and not turn on again then to get back on u have to unplug it and let it sit unplugged for a minute and try it again and sometimes it will turn on and werk for a minute or 2 then shut off again. what do u guys think is wrong and wut i can do to fix it because thats my best computer. thanks for the answers in advance

I have put together 3 to 4 computers... Never had this issue before.

I have a used dell computer I want to use, so I want to take the hard drive out of my old computer and put it as a slave drive inthe dell computer. Now, the dell computer has a master and a slave harddrive already. So, I look out the slave and put mine in as the slave and the computer wouldn't boot up at all. Then I tried putting in my slave drive from my old computer with the slave from the dell and still got nothing. Now, if I put the hardrives back in the dell the way it came it worrks...

So, my question is does dell's Mother board only work with certain hardrives? Or am I messing something.

I have put many of hard drives in computers but none in a dell. So, I know all about the master and slave stuff, and the plugs, and I ahve changed the bios and still get nothing...

What's the best card that I can upgrade into?

Good day. I have a problem with my USB Enclosure. Within it is a 80GB Maxtor Hard drive. when i hook it up to my Laptop, everything is fine. XP SP2 Installed USB 2.0 Installed everything. It will recognize it as a disk drive on my computer. No problem but when i hook it up to other comps, will not recognize unless the USB Port is not 2.0. I will get the "This device can perform faster" popup and the computer will recognize the external hard drive etc but from the time i update the USB to 2.0, problem arises. Especially the "enhanced host controller" in device manager. It will only work when the jumpers on the hard drive is set on "Cap Limit" but usually the jumpers on my external hard drive is set on Master. What gives and thanks! Laterz!

I bought and installed a new mother board that supports AMD64x socket etc. AMD Athlon 4200+ 2.8 gig proc. , 80G hard drive, 52x cd re writable drive, 256mbddr2 Radeon x1300 xt g card dual 1 G memory cards and tried to install it into a case that had a power supply dated back into 2000. I hooked up the HD and CD D up with the power connectors, THEN, hooked them up to the mother board wth the IDE connectors but they didnt respond or even turn on when i had them hooked up to the mother board. BUT when I unhook them they did turn on, even when restarting the comp. It seems the only time it won't start is when the IDE cords are hooked up to the CD drive and hard drive. Anyone have suggestion? I am thinking at this point that it has to do with the power supply. I'm stumped.
