Without seeing your PC, all I can do is offer general advice:

1) Unplug all the wires.
2) Unscrew the screws that hold the side on the case.
3) Open it up.
4) CD's usually install from the front, ususally there is room for 2 at the top.
5) Attach a flat gray IDE cable to the CD-R.
6) Attach a molex power plug to the CD-R
7) Screw the CD-R in so it won't vibrate loose
8) Put the side back on.
9) Reconnect all the outside cables.
10) Ta Daa!

1st put the comp somewhere you can get to it . 2.ground yourself using a wrist strap or by touching the power supply on the side 3.find and disconnect the old cd rom or if you wanna keep it ... lets say you want just the cdr ...make sure its set to the proper setting on the back .. master , slave , cs ... the master is always the last plug on the ide cable .. slave is the middle 1 ... when you plug the IDE cable into the drive .. the red markings always point towards the red wire on the power .. should only go in 1 way ... fire up afterwards and see if the bios sees it ... then after installing ... run a cdr burning program .. aka nero ect good luck and if you need more help ask ...
