If I have a mostly stock computer, the only change is that i upgraded to a 7600 gt video card. I don't know my current power supplies wattage but the guy at best buy said that the video card can run at it's best with 300 watts of power. Do I need to upgrade my power supply for this to be better.

Honestly I can't see how my computer could run any better but I am asking if anyone has changed their power supply and gotten better performance out of your video card

I have 768 MB of RAM in my computer. But when I run system information, I found that although I have that amount of memory, the 'available physical memory' is just around 450 MB. What does that mean? Have you come across this?

In 1981, IBM came up with the first PC. It went on to become the most popular sort after computer in the world.

Yet, why didn't they copyright it? Why did they leave it as it is and let everyone copy it? Now, everyone can produce a PC motherboard without breaking the copyright law and likewise the harddisk and the CD Rom.

I am sure if they had done it, IBM would make billions today, just like Microsoft.

I bought an external hard drive casing and placed my old Samsung Hard drive in it. Upon assembling everything, I had my computer rebooted with the external hard drive plugged. After booting, my computer was able to recognized the device as USB Mass Sotrage including the brand and model of hard drive that I'm using but it doesn't exist on the list of storage under My Computer.

i am selling my old computer to get a new one and i want to know how much it is worth in $$$$ (not how much i can sell it for). anyway the stats are:
dell dimension E310 base bought about september of 06.
3+ GHz P4 processor, 2Gb ram, 80 Gb HDD, 128Mb onboard video memory, 19" CRT monitor, slim keyboard &optical mouse, and whatever else is standard for this model. within that time i have taken the time to upgrade it with: Radeon X1300 with 128Mb onboard and 512 shared; remarkably the only pci-e X1 in existence, it also added a pci tv tuner card that costed about 45$, and a Creative X-Fi extreme music sound card to provide a great music experience which costed around 95$.

anyway, taking all this into acount, how much is this computer worth (not including any speakers)?

Almost every time I try to plug in a USB cord into my front-mounted USB ports on my computer, the computer immediately shuts down or restarts when the metal off the cord comes into contact with the metal of the port. They don't even have to be connected... it's pretty strange. And annoying. Why???
