It's true! You can use a hub to plug in multiple MIDI - USB ins and outs.

One thing to keep in mind is the price of a hub and say four midi ins and outs via USB, compared to a single device designed for this purpose. I'm not 100% but I would suspect that you would have a lot of latency issues this way.

Check out EDIROL's line of multi MIDI to USB devices. They're made by Roland, they're fairly inexpensive and also give you some additional options you wouldn't find in the hub scenario.
