Which processor is better for gaming (Counter strike source is the game) Will the (Socket AM2) AMD Athlon™64 X2 3800+ Dual-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology (2.0 ghz) do it or will the (Socket AM2) AMD Athlon™64 3800+ CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology) (2.4 ghz). I mostly play counter strike and it is recommended 2.4 ghz and i only use one application at a time.

I need to add more memory for my PC cause it's slooooowww. There are so many kinds, I'm not sure how to find out what specific type it need. There are so many that look a like. Is there a way to find out without having to open up my computer? I have a HP Pavilion that I bought in 2000. I have upgraded to windows XP. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have a software which specifies that I have to install it in hard disk G. I dont have a disk G but just C for hard disk and E for CD RW/DVD-RW COMBO, and also F for my blu ray disc drive. I read some info that I could create a virtual hard disk. Is there a way which I could do it costless-ly and fully effective? thanks

This is my system:

CoolMax 550W CR-Series PSU
Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Athlon San Diego 3700+@2420MHz/Stock Fan
Corsair Value 1GB Dual Channel DDR400 PC3200 RAM
Maxtor DiamondPlus 9 80GB SATA 150 HD
Leadtek 6600GT PCI-E 128MB 526/1005
Sound Blaster Live! 24bit 7.1
Lite-On DVD-RW
Samsung Floppy Disk Drive

Keep in mind that I use this computer for gaming...but i'm not looking to overclock. And I'll wait for when more affordable DX10 mid-range cards come out or when the 8800GTS and GTX lower in price.

Option#1:
Swap my 3700 with a x2 Dual proc(stock speed has to be high)
Add another 1GB of memory
The DX10 Video Card

Option#2
Swap BOTH my motherboard+cpu for a LGA775 MB that supports Intel Core 2 Duo(stock speed also has to be clocked higher)
1GB RAM
DX10 Video Card

I bought a 250 GB Hitachi SATA Hard Drive and intalled it in my computer. It has a Biostar P4M80-M4 Motherboard and my operating system is Windows XP Service Pack 2. I have updated the BIOS to recognize big hard drives and it does recognize my 250 GB drive, but when I start Windows it only detects half, 127 GB. What could be the problem, does Windows require some settings or drivers that I should install?

Hi!

I believe I need a new video card! With my new 19' LCD widescreen computer monitor, I cannot always get a 1440x900 resolution. It comes up after a while (then I must change it to that resolution; when I start up the computer, it is in a bad resolution that has to be changed. Even if I change it and apply the settings, it'll go back to this one the next reboot.

I also recieved recently a computer game called Crashday. There is an error message saying, "Unable to initiate DirectX 9 device, there's a problem with your system configuration." Someone told me a new and more updated video card would do the trick.

So I think I'm better off with getting a new video card unless you think otherwise. I currently have an Intel™ 82865G Graphics Controller. Any ideas on a great but cheap video card?

I have $175 in gift cards to Walmart, so if they have the right one for me there, please direct me in a link! Thanks for your help.

We were putting music on Itunes this weekend. All of a sudden my cd rom started skippin on the c.d.'s. Now it plays the c.d.'s but it's contunallly doing little skips. It's like it's running at half speed. The c.d. rom light is blinking the whole time. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong and how to fix it?

I'm going to call dell if I can' figure it out, but last time I waited 3 hours on hold for someone to read an instruction book when I called them...so don't know how much they can help.

I have 2 computers I use all the time; my notebook and my desktop. Over the years, I have put hundreds of dollars into songs, TV shows, and movies from iTunes spread out between the 2 computers.

I want to move all of the library from my desktop to my laptop, and vice versa. I know how to do this and will be doing it with one of my expternal hard drives.

However, I hear that you cannot put TV shows etc on two computers. I hear that in order to move it from one PC to another, I have to deauthorize one (even though I am allowed to have 5 authorized PCs to my account).

Is it possible to have my entire library on both computers at the same time? I want to make sure it is even do-able before I spend my time moving 400 GB in media.

Thanks!

Ok, I just upgraded my computer 2 days ago, I bought a new motherboard, and a new processor. In my old motherboard and processor...it showed 3GB of RAM, now in my new one It's only showing 2.85GB of RAM, in BIOS is says total available is 3072MB, this motherboard doesn't have onboard video...and I have my own videocard in the AGP slot...what could be the problem? I don't understand why its not showing all of it?

Having upgraded from an M-audio Fast track to a fast track pro, I'm now finding mid-range hiss or noise slightly evident in playback. It seems odd as with the same phono cables going to the same amp/speakers the sound is seemingly slightly worse off than before my upgrade (I upgraded primarily for the midi inputs). Going through the headphone output of the interface the sound is fantastic, as is when taking mono phono signals (from either the left or the right) from the interface. I'm pretty clueless about all this stuff, but my interface now has 'pre-amps' which I don't believe the previous had. Maybe that has something to do with it? Any thoughts why there is this mid-range sort of hiss when using the stereo phono output? Any solutions? Any help much appreciated. x
