I use Serial ATA, and for fun, I've striped them together. XP installed in 12 minutes with a 3GHz socket 478 P4 with 1GB 400MHz DDR.

read about SATA and RAID Arrays.
you may have sata hdd controllers on your motherboard.
or you can buy an add on pci card serial ata raid controller.

The most common types are SATA and IDE, while there are some boards out there that support SCSI and SAS (high end hard drives).

Either IDE or SATA.

It actually does not matter what kind of processor you have, it depends what kind of connectors your motherboard has (IDE or SATA).

Soooo find out what kind it has by either a manual or looking at it...
IDE= Rectangular Hole in motherboard
SATA= L shaped i believe.
