my son did and didnt make his hard drive bigger and add more memory and the memory kept burning up the hard drive and he kept replaceing it until it finilly burnt out the mother board. there is more to just adding another dvd burner. if its a second computer or an oldie but a goodie give it a shot it might work for a while, but be prepared to open the wallet on down the road for a new computer, like i said unless you have two... never know until you try.... thats how bill gates got where he is.. good luck

Yes. If they are two internal drives, set both of the jumpers to Line Select (some just say "Line" or "Cable" or even "Cable Select") and the computer will bassically set it up for you, as long as you have the installation CD or have the drivers on a floppy disk, your good to go.

Also, if you want, you could set the better drive as the Master, and the worse one as a Slave, and thats just as good.

And as for a certain some one *cough* saying to connect them both as masters, dont do it, they wont work.

If they are external drives, you'll be fine as you have the installation CD again, or the drivers, blah blah blah....

You can connect as many as you have room for. Some huge towers have 10 bays in them. There is always a way to connect more. I wouldn't advise trying to burn at same time.

yes, i have a dvd burner built in and an external usb dvd burner. you could also have 2 internals, it would show up as 2 cd drives. if your system can handle burning too both at the same time is another question!
