As far as I know movies (.avi .mpeg .wmv) can not harbor viruses, but I could be wrong.
But no your dvd player can't be affected because a virus messes with files on your computer, so if the file isnt there that the virus is looking for, it cant do anything. Much like why Windows viruses wont work on Mac computers.
Hope that helps.

No it doesnt affect on dvd player cuz a virus is dedicated to hurt a specific Operating System for example: windows or symbian"for mobiles" but dvd players dosent have such OS so it will be seen by dvd player as an known file.

CD gamers and DVD participant have application as do all digital contraptions which comprise desktops. there have been few virus that focus on contraptions different than desktops. a important undertaking is virus which would be used as weapons to attach administration structures such because of the fact the capability grid, water, or site visitors structures. i've got no longer heard of absolutely everyone attempting to attack a CD or DVD participant, yet. I assume that as cellular telephones boost into extra related, there'll be extra virus attacking those cells.

I'm guess that seeing as it has a virus, it probably doesn't include a proper copy of the movie, so chances are it won't play. It is very unlikely that it could do something to your DVD player.
